I work in partnership with nature & prioritise providing accessible experiences, which are welcoming to everyone. By communicating with those who have lived experience & by adjusting experiences creatively, I will work with you to respond to your access requirements. 🍃
Flow foREST Therapy considers your access in the following ways, by:
- Providing information about the trail conditions before you book, to let you know if the trail or activity is appropriate for you.
- Beginning the conversation, at the time of booking. I’d like to know what your access requirements are for participating in a walk/wander. So I ask, do you have any access requirements for this walk?
- Accepting Companion Cards so that if you have a disability, you may bring a companion for free to provide support for activities which you would otherwise not be able to attend alone.
- Providing flexible ticketing prices if you cannot afford the full or concession price of a ticket. This is the 'Pay what you can' option.
- Not making assumptions & welcoming you, with the awareness that some disabilities, illnesses & barriers to participation may be invisible.
- Knowing time is precious & so not wasting yours.
- Respecting your privacy & understanding that you may choose not to disclose about your experience.
- Providing wheelchair accessible walks & always being on the look out for places which naturally have less barriers on the trail, better public transport options & accessible toilets.
- By consulting with people who have lived experience.
On a final note, there are days when you don’t feel like being in a group or the outdoors may not feel safe. At these times there are alternatives. I have found places which have connection to nature’s charm & yet provide protection from the elements on cold, wet, windy days. I also have ways to bring the outdoors in. Please get in touch, if you have any questions. 🍃
